Is that T-Pain?!

Why yes, T-Pain IS wearing a shirt that I helped bring to life:

I’ve been working with a buddy of mine who is living the How to Make It in America life–he’s started a clothing line called Jilt for Fame. Every now and then I digitize a sketch or two of his to prepare it for production. Best of luck to Justin Agosto on this endeavor! Do him a solid and like Jilt for Fame on Facebook ›

2 More GD USA Awards for Team SD

This year we doubled our GD USA awards–one for our redesign of the ELMA Philanthropies website and another for the Madison Square Park Conservancy website redesign. We’re really proud of how these sites look and work. For my specific contributions to these projects please check out the write ups in my portfolio.

SD App Project in NYTimes

I’m very excited to share an article in the New York Times about an iPhone app that I worked on at Something Digital. The app is to aid a major NYC law firm–Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom–in their recruiting process.

It features a “game” that teaches potential applicants about the qualities Skadden looks for in new hires, as well as comprehensive information on office locations, the recruitment process, and facts about the firm. It also includes a business card reader that captures contact information from a photograph of a business card.

My role in this project included layout of secondary screens, pre-production tasks for development, testing, and emotional investment(!)

Download it for free from the iTunes store and let me know what you think!

Webby Award Nomination

A website I worked on at Something Digital was nominated for a Webby Award!

To quote from the SD blog:
“There were over 10,000 submissions to The Webby Awards this year; our design is one of five nominees for the Family/Parenting category. Nominations are judged on the site’s content, structure and navigation, visual design, functionality, interactivity, and overall user experience. Check out our case study on The Partnership at Drugfree.org redesign to learn more about how we addressed these criteria.”

I’m very proud to be a part of this project with one of SD’s oldest clients.

V-cards! I mean…Valentine’s Day cards

grouchy card

Every now and then a girl’s gotta do a good old-fashioned art project. I got the itch a couple of weeks ago after a trip to the ever-inspirational Brooklyn Flea.

I had purchased some old school Valentine’s Day cards– y’know, those crappy paper ones that you tear out along the perforated edges…? Unfortunately, I only had four, which was much less than the number of Valentines I intended to mail. Problem!

Thank goodness for scanners. After a few short minutes I had 300dpi fodder for some digital Valentine collages that could be printed over and over and over again 4ever!!! I spent the rest of the week staying up too late playing on Photoshop and InDesign.

To the special few who received the resulting Valentine’s Day cards: you’re welcome! Hope you liked the Simpsons stamps. To the rest of you: feel free to download, print, and spread the lurrrrve.

Small Screen Debut

Today my posters and fliers for Get A Room made their acting debut! They play a supporting role in the promotional video for the bi-weekly comedy show at Hotel Indigo.

None of my design work has ever taken an acting class, but you would never know that because they did such a great job! I wouldn’t be surprised if they were nominated for a SAG award.

It’s an honor to have my work share the screen with comedians and friends Jonathan Morvay, Christian Polanco, and Christi Chiello. Thanks so much for including me in this excellent endeavor!
